The Cadillac Crossover Touring 4 aka XT4 is Cadillac’s second crossover sport utility, the luxury version of the Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain and slightly smaller than it’s bigger brother the Cadillac XT5 and 3 row XT6.
Teased to the public during the 2018 Academy Awards the Cadillac XT4 was then introduced to the public at the 2018 New York Auto Show.

Calling it the “XT resurgence,” Cadillac is placing its hopes for a rise in sales among luxury car builders on three crossover SUVs – the XT4, XT5 and XT6.
The XT5 was introduced in late 2016 as a ’17 model, the smaller XT4 showed up last December as a ’19 version. Still to come is the bigger XT6, a three-row crossover, which, according to Bob Ghent, will go on sale in July at Ghent Cadillac in Greeley as a 2020 model.
Cadillac, in sizing the three, paid little attention to whether they might “fit in,” as in marketing category. The XT4 at 181 inches in overall length falls between luxury subcompact and compact grouping; the XT5 at 189.5 inches is between luxury compact and midsize, and the XT6 at 198.5 inches is bigger than luxury midsize, smaller than full size.
Late November 2016 found me at the wheel of the new ’17 XT5, the high-end Platinum edition finished in stellar black metallic; it was the 2,000th new car, truck or SUV I’d driven and reviewed, dating back into the 1970s. The XT5 has been Cadillac’s best-seller since.
