Taking its moniker from the Atlantic jet stream, as many of the Volkswagen models being named after prominent winds and currents. The biggest change after the Jetta introduction was in 1985, when Volkswagen introduced the 2nd generation Jetta. The 85 Jetta was more aerodynamic and larger, which prompted the switch from a sub-compact to a compact car. This generation was made for 8 years, which is the longest generation to date. Roseville, CA- Let’s face it, this is not the most exciting car in the Volkswagen lineup. It’s tough to exhibit a lot of enthusiasm for the Jetta, a solid yet very unspectacular compact sedan.
