The 2020 Toyota Supra. These Supra Reviews include all aspects of the Supra “controversy” due to the fact that it contains certain BMW parts, that might take away some of the folklore from Toyota Supra aficionados. 21 years since the Supra has been a New Model in the USA and Canada markets, so opinions and criticism abound. We’ve collected some of our favorite reviews of the 2020 Toyota Supra below.
Toyota’s revival of the Supra performance coupe after more than two decades was one of the most anticipated automobile unveilings in recent years, and after a whole lot of teasing, the sheet finally came off in January at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Reaction to the new look was love-it-or-hate it — but the real question was how it would perform.
It already was known that the Supra was co-developed with BMW alongside the 2019 BMW Z4 roadster, and that the two cars share a powertrain, chassis components and interior bits. But they parted ways for independent final development and tuning. They are also being built separately, with the Supra put together by Magna Steyr, a third-party production company, in Austria.
How did it turn out? The reborn Supra goes on sale this summer, but we’ve already gotten to drive it on the street and on a track, as well as pore over the pricing, specs, interior, tech and materials. Check out our comprehensive roundup of coverage for everything you need to know about the 2020 Toyota Supra right here:

Here’s Why Everyone Is Wrong About The New Supra
The all-new MKV Supra is here and it is an absolutely fantastic machine. Yet some refuse to acknowledge just how great a machine it is because it shares components with BMW’s New Z4. These same people repeatedly call it “A BMW in Toyota Clothing”.
The return of the Toyota Supra is something auto fans have been longing for. The ride is set to return in 2020, and recently The new Toyota Supra A90 was unveiled. Upon the reveal of this eye-catching machine, a number of aftermarket parts hit the market.
Though the vehicle still hasn’t been released, today we get our first look at Rocket Bunny’s widebody kit with Flat Head 3D, transforming the new Supra into a menacing, attention-grabbing beast. The design comes in two different configurations. We find one with a custom front splitter, extended side skirts, flared arches on the front and rear while a massive ducktail spoiler adds to the aerodynamics.

Just about every Wednesday, a fresh crop of eager cars and SUVs pull into the parking lot at California Speedway and line up along the curb for testing—a batch of new contestants for our private little weekly episode of America’s Got Automotive Talent. It’s 7:30 a.m., and on cue, they roll past the security guard and into a nice, neat row to introduce themselves. Already, they’re starting to nervously eye one another.
Towering over them all is the enormous new Kia Telluride, which appears to have the mass of 14 Fortes. Theoretically, it’s the first SUV with its own gravitational field. Its performance trick? Rather than racing around the figure eight’s cones, it’s going to orbit around it. Next to the Kia is the silver Mercedes-Benz GLE 450, which can pneumatically hop up and down. This is going to be a big, big crowd pleaser. Although it’s officially for jumping out of Saharan sand pits, I’m telling you, Mercedes has missed a bet by not putting a button for this on its remote key fob. Finding your GLE after a long night at the Hollywood Bowl would be a cinch.

Watch this Audi R8 take on a Nissan GT-R and then a tuned Toyota Supra in quarter-mile action.
Last year, Audi rebranded their venerable R8 supercar a bit. No longer called the V10 Plus, the top of the line R8 was renamed the V10 Performance. It also got an extra 9 horsepower, bringing the total output of its 5.2-L V10 to 602 hp, and shaved off a tenth of a second from its 0-60 time, bringing it down to 3.2 seconds.
It also got larger ceramic brakes, a carbon fiber anti-roll bar, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires.

This 2020 Toyota Supra Is Much Torquier Than It’s Supposed to Be
The birds are chirping, the sun is blazing, and my phone alarm is once again blaring that it is Friday–the time to talk cars.
This week on Car Time, Staff Writer Justin Westbrook and I talk about Car and Driver’s report that its 2020 Toyota Supra press car showed on a dyno that it was putting out a small bump in power and a noticeable rise in torque from Toyota’s claimed numbers, and we argue about whether four-door SUV “coupes” should be called coupes, and whether or not they should even exist.

The first new Toyota Surpa to be sold in the United States in the past 21 years is about to go on sale. Technically, it will be the second new Supra to be sold here since 1998: the first one was sold in January at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale for $2.1 million. You can get one in Baton Rouge for less than $50-grand starting in July.
Toyota collaborated with BMW in the production of the 3.0-liter Inline 6-cylinder engine under the hood, and the Supra can hit 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 4.1 seconds.
Toyota invited auto journalists from around the U.S. and Canada to get a sneak peek at the new Supra in Middleburg, Va., allowing us to drive up to Summit Point Motor Sports Park for a day on the racetrack. The twisting roads leading up to the racetrack offered a glimpse at the Supra’s handling, but track driving really showed off this car’s capabilities. The top track speed for the Supra is electronically limited to 155 miles per hour.

Discuss: 2020 Toyota Supra first drive review: Better in (almost) every way
Oh, Supra. We haven’t seen this much fan uproar about the rebirth of a beloved Japanese sports car since… well, since the NSX’s rebirth, which really wasn’t all that long ago. Just like with Honda/Acura’s reborn icon, fan passions run deep with Supra, a model that most have only ever touched through a PlayStation controller. The many and myriad reactions to its unveiling this past January at the Detroit Auto Show displays just how strongly people feel about the former Fast & Furious hero.
I was lucky to score an early drive of a camouflaged prototype of the MkV Supra last year, and even then, long before Toyota took the wraps off, I could feel the flames being stoked in Roadshow’s comment section. Today, dear readers, it’s time to tamp down those fires, because the 2020 Toyota Supra is here, it’s good and I don’t care that it carries a German heart beating inside a German body. You shouldn’t, either.
