Volkswagen Beetle lovers are in for a shock as it has been announced that Volkswagen Beetle history may have been written about the demise of the iconic Beetle.
While Volkswagen EV’s, a Volkswagen Truck, and even an EV VW Microbus are all in excited discussions around Volkswagen currently, the demise of The Beetle is probably upon us, due to lessened demand for small cars in general.

It’s the end of the road for the iconic Volkswagen Beetle after the automaker halts production of the model this week.
The German automaker was ceasing production of the last version of its Beetle at its plant in Puebla, Mexico. The last of the 5,961 manufactured Final Edition versions will roll of the assembly line Wednesday, NPR reported, and head to a museum after ceremonies in the city to mark the end of an era.
Last year, Volkswagen announced it would stop making the ladybug-shaped vehicle in wake of decreased industry demand for compact vehicles. The company said it had no plans to replace the iconic car. The Final Edition models will be offered in a convertible model as well.

The Volkswagen Beetle will say goodbye in 2019. Volkswagen will end global sales of the iconic, ladybug-shaped car at a time when automakers have faced waning demand for small cars. The German manufacturer said Thursday it has no immediate plans to replace the Beetle, as it focuses its lineup on new electric vehicles and strong sellers like SUVs.
