Fresh off the heels of the Audi SQ8 TDI release, we’re now seeing another new spy video of the upcoming Audi RS Q8, the hotter, even faster version. Though, it could be seen as a breath of fresh air, thanks to the relatively lukewarm response to the SQ8’s official reveal.
The Audi SQ8 TDI, as its name implies, packs a turbocharged diesel V6. It’s a fine engine and it makes a healthy amount of torque. But it’s boring. It doesn’t make a great noise and it’s actually less powerful than the outgoing V8 used in previous Audi ‘S’ cars. So we wouldn’t blame you for being disappointed in the SQ8. Powering the RS Q8 will be a twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 that will make over 600 hp. And yes, it will run on gasoline, not diesel. So it will be very fast and very loud. In this new spy video, we get to see the Audi RS Q8 lapping the Nurburgring and its monster V8 makes a very nice noise. It’s loud, aggressive and even a bit exotic. Make no mistake, the RS Q8 means business.
